The Oscars are this weekend. That speech was pretty cool when it happened and Cuba’s career was about to take off. Too bad it was all pretty much downhill from there. Have a good weekend everybody!

Des Moines Register- Look who’s engaged — Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis! Us Weekly and E! reported the happy news about the hot celebrity couple on Thursday night. Both sites confirmed the engagement after noting the huge diamond ring Kunis wore while shopping in Los Angeles earlier in the day. Kutcher, 36, and Kunis, 30, have been dating for two years. Before that, they were castmates on the popular Fox sitcom That ’70s Show, which aired from 1998 to 2006. It’s the first marriage for Kunis and the second for Kutcher, who finalized his divorce from Demi Moore in November.
Great news. Fucking great news. The Duke and Duchess of Cedar Rapids have made their engagement official and the city is downright buzzing with excitement. This is one small step for Cedar Rapids, one giant leap for Iowa. Bottles will be popped across this great city and state tonight in honor of the royal couple. Ashton continues to make Iowans everywhere proud. Not only has he plowed some of the hottest chicks in Hollywood (RIP Brittany Murphy) but he hopped from Demi Moore and immedilitey landed on his feet with Mila. It wasn’t enough for the Cedar Rapidian to be dating and consistently having sex with one of the hottest chicks in the world, he went right ahead and locked her down. Iowa just can’t lose today. My first post on Barstool Iowa was about Ashton and Mila so naturally I’ll be anxiously awaiting my Save The Date and invitation to the Kutcher/Kunis wedding. Should be a blast.
Well this isn’t good at all. Remember when the Hawks were #10 in the country and looked unstoppable and poised for a deep run in March? That was fun. Too bad it feels like that was a million years ago now that they’ve lost three straight games and are officially in a fucking tailspin. Tonight’s loss to Indiana was an especially strong mule kick straight to the dick. You have to beat unranked opponents on the road. You just have to. By the way, who the fuck is Will Sheehey? Never heard of that kid in my life and then he drops 30 tonight. Bizarre. All of this is bizarre and I don’t like it.

Does This Look Like The Face Of A Des Moines Man Who Fired A Gun In The Air At A City Park “Just to do it”?
Des Moines Register- A Des Moines man was arrested after allegedly firing a gun into the air in a city park early Thursday morning. William Richard Hood, 28, reportedly told officers he had bought the gun a few days earlier to “look cool” and fired it into the air “just to do it.” He was charged with carrying weapons and reckless use of firearms. Officers responded to Pioneer Park, near Southeast 14th Street and Hartford Avenue, around 2:15 a.m. on reports of shots being fired, officials said. As an officer searched the area, he saw a car driving very quickly towards him down Pioneer Road, police reports show. The officer stopped the car, which was driven by Hood, authorities said. Hood reportedly had bloodshot and watery eyes and slurred speech. As he spoke with the officer, Hood allegedly moved his hands toward his pockets and around his seat. The officer also spotted a shell casing in the car. Officers had Hood get out of the car and searched the vehicle and his pockets, police said. Officers found a pipe in Hood’s jacket pocket and Hood admitted it was for smoking marijuana, officials said.
Logical arguments on top of logical arguments here. Let’s start from the beginning. Why did Mr. Hood buy the gun in the first place? ”To look cool.” Okay, that’s good enough for me. That playground logic still applies when you’re a 28 year old man the material goods just change. In middle school you were cool if you came to school with a Digimon that had turned into a TEDDYMON or a AIRDRAMON, when you’re approaching age 30 you have to walk around with a gun in order to look cool. Got it. I’ll remember that for when I reach that age. And why did Mr. Hood fire the gun into the air at a city park in the wee hours of Thursday morning. ”Just to do it.” Again, an ironclad excuse for such odd behavior. He bought the gun. What was he supposed to do? Wait around until a situation arose when he really needed to use? That might never happen. So the best thing to do was smoke a little weed, go to a public place and fire off a few rounds straight up into the air until the police arrived. Sounds pretty logical is you ask me.
